Tim Lehi has been tattooing a little over a quarter century and making art his entire life. As the son of an art professor Tim became obsessed with drawing and comic art at a young age. In his early teens Lehi started drawing flyers for local metal shows in Wichita, Kansas which soon after led to an interest in tattooing. Eager to learn, Tim began teaching himself by collecting, applying and observing the art. This learning experience took Tim from Kansas to Texas , Arizona, and finally settling in San Francisco. Here he began working and learning with Ed Hardy and many other inspiring elders and peers. This all led to Tim, Jeff Rassier, Scott Sylvia, and Jef Whitehead opening Black Heart Tattoo in 2004. Throughout his life Lehi has been an avid music fan and metal head playing and collecting guitars. This has led him to creating music with both his own projects as well as friends. Over the years Tim has continued to hone his skills as an artist in many forms including commissioned fine art paintings, comic art, and commercial art ranging from beer labels to album art.
